This new laboratory was nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Commercial Real Estate awards for Best Medical Project.
Cedars-Sinai is a world-renowned healthcare system serving the diverse Los Angeles community across its growing campus. When they decided to relocate the existing HLA, Cytogenics, Molecular Pathology and Transplantation Immunology laboratories to a new standalone building, they needed a sophisticated project team to develop the state-of-the-art space for these specialty groups.
The building they selected was recently built and available for lease. Its proximity to the rest of the Cedars-Sinai campus made it an ideal location. It consists of a 3-story structure over 3 levels of underground parking and comprises 32,979 sf.
The first floor is parking valet, accessible parking and building support. Levels 2 and 3 are fit out as laboratories. The majority of the mechanical equipment is located on the roof. Level 2 was built out to relocate clinical laboratory spaces – Transplantation Immunology Lab (TIL) and Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Labs – from the main campus. The Specialty Contract and CLIA laboratory occupy the 3rd floor.
