As our 2024 summer internship program is coming to an end, we want to say THANK YOU to all our incredible SoCal and NorCal interns. This summer was filled with some amazing experiences, from our jobsite visits and trainings to baseball games, bowling nights, cooking classes, painting events and bonfires.

After seeing our NorCal team score big at TopGolf, our SoCal crew and interns knew we had to join the fun! We teed it up for an evening full of delicious fajitas, mini donut holes, and a round of Angry Birds golf that was nothing short of a hole-in-one. There were a few swings and misses, but those bogeys didn’t stop us from having a tee-rific time! It was great to bond, share some laughs, and enjoy each other’s company. Here's to more days on par with this amazing team!

At Millie and Severson, we believe that the health and well-being of our employees are the foundation of our success. That's why we organized a day dedicated to wellness, where everyone could recharge, relax, and enjoy activities that support both mind and body.

A delicious catered lunch provided the perfect fuel as we enjoyed a variety of wellness activities at the Health and Wellness Fair. Millie and Severson has successfully erected all steel columns and completed the Panelized Roof System for the 147,420 sf Staley Point Corona project, allowing us to roof-in the building.

Currently, we are focused on the interior build-out for the Tenant Improvement (TI) portion while continuing to advance on- and off-site work. A huge thank you to our dedicated team and partners who are bringing us closer to delivering a top-notch facility for our esteemed client, Staley Point Capital.

Our NorCal interns recently had the privilege to observe a panel lift at our latest project, 49000 Milmont in Fremont, CA—a 265,598-square-foot development by Hines. This site visit provided invaluable hands-on experience, particularly for Jose Perez Cruz, the dedicated intern assigned to this project, who also led fellow interns Lexie Lee, Rid Khan, and Itzel Gonzalez Zepeda on a guided tour.

Our team is making great strides on the Project Tire Build-to-Suit in Victorville, CA with our valued partner, Prologis!

Two weeks ago we successfully began the first sequence of panel lifts, with another two weeks of lifting ahead. By the end of this week, all slab on grade and tilt-panels will be poured out, marking a significant milestone in this 1,295,742 sq ft endeavor.

We’re also excited to share that column erection and roof structure work have begun, setting the stage for the next phase of this impressive build.

We swung into summer fun at our NorCal office par-tee at TopGolf!

We had a blast enjoying a taco bar, refreshing drinks, and some friendly competition with games and prizes. Huge shoutout to our incredible employees and interns for making the event unforgettable. Their energy and enthusiasm are what make our team so special.

Exciting developments at our Stadium Pacific Center project, in Anaheim, CA, for Pacific Industrial! The roof structures are now going up on both buildings—one spanning 237,246 sf and the other 100,784 sf. We're proud of the team's dedication and can't wait to see these buildings take shape.

Our team and interns had a blast at our beach bonfire in Huntington Beach! We played some intense volleyball, cornhole, and football games, and fueled up with pizza before gathering around the bonfire for s'mores. It was the perfect evening to kick back in the sand and enjoy some great conversations with an awesome crew. Here's to more moments like these that bring us closer together!

We’ve completed the panel lifting phase at the 162,656 sf Harbor Logistics Center in Santa Ana, CA, for our valued client, Kearny Real Estate – representing another successful collaboration in our ongoing partnership with them.

Our dedicated team expertly installed the columns and beams, setting the stage for the roof structure installation.

We are excited to announce the completion of another successful project for our valued client, Rexford Industrial. This endeavor features two state-of-the-art industrial buildings, totaling 100,483 square feet, located in Orange, CA.

The project proudly showcases modern tenant improvements, including Ober wall panels from France, and has achieved LEED Silver certification, reflecting our unwavering commitment to sustainability and excellence.

We are thrilled to announce the completion of a new warehouse in Stockton, CA, spanning an impressive 1,015,791 square feet on a 58-acre lot!

We thank First Industrial Realty Trust for being an incredible client and partner, as well as HPA Architecture and Kier + Wright, throughout this project. Their collaboration was invaluable in making this vision a reality.

Our NorCal office hosted a fantastic 'sip and paint' 🖌️ event, inspired by our amazing summer interns! The idea was to bring everyone together to celebrate their heritage through food and art. Each team member brought a dish that represented their cultural background, creating a delicious and diverse feast.

We also embraced our artistic sides by painting letters that spell out Millie and Severson. These unique pieces of art were hung in our office as a testament to our collective creativity and unity.

We welcomed Agnes Bitoka and Kassy Padilla from UCLA to our 2024 SoCal summer intern team!

Agnes came eager to dive into the world of construction, hoping to gain a comprehensive understanding of the field and further her interest in construction management. Kassy shares a similar enthusiasm, focusing on mastering everything there is to know about construction and estimating.

Since joining us, Agnes and Kassy have already embarked on several jobsite visits and even enjoyed a fun and interactive cooking class with the other interns.

We are thrilled to announce the completion of a 165,327 square foot warehouse in Fontana, CA, developed in partnership with Dedeaux Properties. This state-of-the-art facility features a 36’ clear height, 21 dock-high doors, tenant improvements, and 50 trailer parking stalls.

The collaboration of our team, Alan, Les, Sean and Ed, with Dedeaux Properties has been an exciting journey and we look forward to many more successful ventures together.  

Millie and Severson successfully collected a large number of books during our recent book drive, all of which have been donated to the Kiwanis Club of Cypress, CA. For the past eight years, the club has been dedicated to their summer book distribution program, providing under-served children with quality reading materials to help prevent a decline in reading achievement scores between school years. In addition to our initial collection, Millie and Severson doubled the amount of books to support this wonderful cause! The Kiwanis Club was thrilled to see our donations at their general meeting.

We are excited to announce the completion of a state-of-the-art 185,089 sq ft industrial warehouse for our esteemed client, Bridge Industrial. Located in Vernon, CA, this facility boasts a 36' clear height, 23 dock-high doors, a 144' truck court, an ESFR sprinkler system, and 4,000 amps of power. We are thankful for our ongoing partnership and look forward to many more successful projects together.

Our NorCal team, along with their partners and families, took a break from the daily grind and went on an adventure! They traded their desks for tents, and the only meetings they had were around the campfire. It was s'more fun than they could have ever imagined!

Congratulations to Prologis on the Clawiter-Hayward 40 project achieving LEED Gold certification! This 157,582 sq ft industrial warehouse stands out by using 57% less energy compared to similar facilities. It also saves 142,946 gallons annually on indoor water consumption with efficient plumbing fixtures, and 1 million gallons annually on outdoor water through smart landscape design, all measured against LEED baseline standards. Kudos to the project team: Millie and Severson, General Contractors, HPA, Inc., and Kier + Wright.

We’re excited to announce the completion of the 266,711 sq ft West State Commerce Center in Ontario, CA. This state-of-the-art industrial warehouse, featuring extensive tenant improvements, was developed in partnership with Inland Harbor, LLC. We look forward to continuing to build our relationship with them.

Millie and Severson is excited to share the completion of our latest project at 16627 Avalon Blvd in Carson, CA. This 113,470 sq ft industrial building, developed for CenterPoint Properties, features a warehouse with 23 docks, tenant improvements, and EV parking. We're grateful for our partnership with CenterPoint Properties and look forward to future collaborations.

We’re excited to introduce Daniel Guido and Martin Huerta Bravo from CSU, Long Beach. Both are eager about diving into project management and gaining hands-on experience. Millie and Severson proudly congratulates Albert Haddad, Assistant Project Manager, on being selected for the 2024-2025 NAIOP SoCal Young Professionals Group. This 1,255,320 sf distribution center is one of the largest industrial developments in the Inland Empire within the past year. It features extensive tenant improvements aimed at fostering a healthy work-life balance for employees including: Gym, Yoga Room, Quiet Rooms, Shower Room, Cafe, Relaxation Room, Basketball Court.

We’re thrilled to welcome Rid Khan from Cal State East Bay and Itzel Gonzalez-Zepeda from UC Berkeley to our Pleasanton office team! Rid is eager to dive into project management, field operations, and estimating, while Itzel is excited to explore the world of construction and learn from our experienced team. Throughout the summer, they’ll gain valuable insight into all aspects of construction management.

We’re thrilled when we get to see our projects come to life! Thanks to our continued relationship with Prologis, we completed a 346,860 sf warehouse on Murphy Parkway in Lathrop, CA, along with tenant improvements for NFI Industries.

This past Wednesday, Millie and Severson had the pleasure of hosting a special luncheon at El Torito to honor our incredible administrative professionals. Their dedication, hard work, and unwavering support keep our team thriving all year round.

Paulus Engineering invited a few of us to a LA Kings game where we watched them triumph over the Anaheim Ducks. It was an exciting experience, made better by fantastic company, tasty food, and delicious drinks. We got the chance to enjoy a moment outside of the daily hustle and bustle by spending time with a wonderful group of people, and look forward to future opportunities to connect both professionally and personally!

We recently completed a 105,014 sf warehouse in Anaheim for one of our valued clients, Rexford Industrial. The tenant improvements include a 7,665 sf office component incorporating high-quality materials and design elements. The office space showcases a gorgeous TerraMai staircase and platform, along with concrete Ober wall panels from France.

Millie and Severson would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Tom Bak on your well-deserved retirement after many years of highly respected leadership not only at Trammell Crow Company, but as a highly respected industry leader. Congratulations to the Bridge Point South Bay VII project team for earning Gold at this year’s Los Angeles Business Journal Commercial Real Estate Awards. Millie and Severson is proud to have served as the general contractor on the recently completed 174,211 sf building, constructed on a tight, in-fill location in the city of Torrance, as part of our continued relationship with Bridge Industrial.

Millie and Severson is proud to have served as the general contractor on the recently completed two buildings located in the highly sought after South Bay Industrial Market, totaling 427,604 sf, as part of our continued relationship with Kearny Real Estate.

We are excited to share John Coronel's promotion to Vice President. John has been a loyal and dedicated employee of Millie and Severson for more than 28 years. He is well-known and respected by everyone in our industry, has built solid relationships with many numerous long-term clients and subcontractors, and has provided outstanding leadership on many of our most challenging projects. He has been an excellent leader and mentor in the company, and we are excited to have John as an integral member of Millie and Severson for many more years.

We are pleased to announce Michael Swanberg's promotion to Vice President. Michael has been a key contributor to Millie and Severson's success for more than eight years - where he has not only delivered outstanding project management to our most valued clients, but has also been one of the most influential mentors to our rising project management staff. He is one of the great leaders in our company and is highly respected by our clients and subcontractor partners alike. We look forward to Michael’s leadership for many years to come. 

Congratulations Mark Baranick on your recent promotion to Vice President! Mark has been an integral part of Millie and Severson’s Business Development team for the last 7 years, providing proven leadership on several project opportunities and fostering strong relationships with many new clients. Mark’s strong communication skills, deep understanding of market dynamics and sound strategic thinking has helped Millie and Severson grow over the years, and we look forward to his continued contribution for years to come.

Millie and Severson had a great time at the 2024 Associated Schools of Construction Region 6 + 7 student competitions this past weekend. We hosted an ice cream social, gathered our divisions together for a team dinner, met many amazing students, and are so thankful to have had the opportunity to mentor students from University of California, Davis.

After nearly 47 years as a Foreman for Millie and Severson, Lupe Tobias is officially retired. Lupe’s impressive resume includes 14 years at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital Whittier and 7 years at Good Samaritan Hospital, and he is most proud of the fact that he had ZERO injuries during the span of his almost 47-year career. His colleagues have characterized him as ‘a pleasure to work with’ and ‘the nicest person you will ever meet.’ Congratulations Lupe on a well-deserved retirement…one he hopes involves lots of traveling!

Our NorCal elves (Pleasanton and Sacramento offices, along with their families and kids) worked hard putting together 80 care kits 🎁 to donate to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland. The kits, which include Infant Comfort, Caregiver Comfort, Concussion, Sensory, and Creativity kits, help patients and patients’ families while they are staying in the hospital over the holidays.

Our Northern California offices started the holiday season off right with a night full of bowling🎳, bocce ball, cornhole, and fun🎉! 

We are continuing to make progress on Overton Moore Properties' LA Airport Industrial project. The 141,360 sf concrete tilt-up, designed by HPA Architecture, features rooftop parking and is centrally located to LAX.

Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement Bruce Mapes! For the last 23 years Bruce has worked on many projects, including the 22-building Golden Springs Development, helping to ‘cement’ the future for Millie and Severson. We want to wish you well and hope you enjoy your extended time off.
