The week of March 2-8, 2025, we celebrate the amazing women in all areas of construction - whether as project managers, engineers, accountants, architects, or other roles within the industry. Their hard work and expertise are helping to build the future.

Here’s to the women making an impact in construction!

Congratulations to our incredible award winners from last week’s Los Angeles Business Journal Commercial Real Estate Awards!

🏅 Overton Moore Properties for taking home the Industrial Project of the Year, Bronze Award for their outstanding Amazon Warehouse near LAX.

🏅 Bridge Industrial for an exceptional achievement, winning two Industrial Project of the Year, Silver Awards for their remarkable Bridge Point Vernon II and Bridge Point Vernon III projects.

We are proud to be a part of this incredible industry and to see such innovation and excellence recognized.

We are excited to kick off another project with our valued client, Rexford Industrial! We just completed the demolition phase and are now preparing the site for grading operations on the 159,532 SF industrial warehouse in the City of Industry.

As one of the premier industrial builders in California we look forward to continuing to work with Rexford, and our many other partners, in building new and exciting buildings throughout the market.

Thank you to the University of California, Davis American Society of Civil Engineers chapter for welcoming us into your classroom! It was a pleasure sharing insights about what it’s like working for a top ENR construction company. We were especially thrilled to see that you’ve been following our LinkedIn presence and that you requested us to speak on our strategy.

We enjoyed connecting with such a driven group and are excited to see what the future holds for each of you. Wishing you all the best in your studies and future careers in construction!

In 2025, we are proud to mark an incredible milestone - 80 years of innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication at Millie and Severson!

Founded in 1945 by Noble Millie and Charles Severson, our journey began just after World War II. Both USC engineering graduates, they played a key role in building Liberty Ships in Los Angeles before transitioning into the rapidly growing tilt-up concrete industrial sector.

In 1975, Charles Severson’s son Jonathan joined the firm, carrying on the legacy after Mr. Millie’s passing. Over the years since, we’ve expanded our expertise to include commercial office buildings, healthcare facilities, housing and hospitality, and cultural and educational institutions.

In 2022, Jonathan stepped down as president, passing the torch to his son, Ben Severson, who now leads the company into its next chapter.

We have completed over 4,000 projects - each one reflecting the dedication of our team, the trust of our clients, and the vision of our founders.

Thank you to our employees, clients, and partners for being part of this incredible journey. We look forward to the next 80 years of building a better future together!

Millie and Severson congratulates the California State University, Long Beach, California State University - East Bay, and University of California, Davis construction management teams on their participation in the 2025 ASC Region 6+7 Student Competition!

It was inspiring to see these talented student teams compete and showcase their hard work in the Project Management category (CSULB and CSUEB) and the Commercial category (UC Davis). Our SoCal and NorCal offices were proud to support them throughout their preparation journey, offering guidance and mentorship as they refined their presentations.

We’ve officially started construction on a new 215,221 sf industrial warehouse in Irvine, CA. The over excavation of the pad is currently in progress, setting the stage for the next phase of the build. Once complete, we'll begin digging the footings and preparing to pour the slab.

We are excited to continue our long-standing relationship with Bridge Industrial and contribute to another great project with them.

As part of our ongoing professional development, we welcomed Julie Chesley, PhD, the lead of the Chesley Group and an associate of SyncUp Leadership Group, to guide us through a powerful team-building workshop.

The activity challenged teams to construct a tower that could hold a marshmallow for 10 seconds. Judging was based on creativity, budget (materials used), height, and whether the tower stayed standing. It was a great way to engage in collaboration, planning, and creative problem-solving under pressure. Key takeaway: Successful teamwork is essential in any workplace!

We completed the Cochrane Technology Center in Morgan Hill, CA, for our valued client, Trammell Crow Company! This 500,000 square foot development spans over five buildings, delivering top-tier industrial spaces.

Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this project to life—your dedication and hard work ensured a successful project, and we look forward to many more partnerships in the future!

Congratulations to Prologis on Lululemon's new 1,255,320 square-foot warehouse in Ontario, CA achieving LEED Gold Certification! This milestone highlights Lululemon's continued dedication to sustainability and responsible environmental practices.

Key accomplishments include:

This project was made possible through a collaborative effort with Millie and Severson, Prologis, and HPA Inc.

Together, we’re helping to create a more sustainable future.
