Chairman of the Board
Jon joined the company in 1975 and has served the company in nearly every capacity over the last four decades. Serving as President from 1982 to 2010, Jon’s leadership has been a key factor in the company’s sustained excellence. He helped launch Millie and Severson on the successful trajectory where his continued influence, passion for building, and technical construction expertise continue to guide Millie and Severson. Jon’s experience spans 38 years in all project types and all project stages. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Jon has been Chairman of the Board since 2010.
Brian is the leader of our executive team. With a keen eye focused on the future, he ensures that Millie and Severson remains on the cutting edge of the construction industry. As the leader of our “Building a Higher Standard” program, he has been instrumental in implementing technology upgrades and recruiting innovative engineers to our team. Prior to joining Millie and Severson, Brian held executive positions in the homebuilding and mortgage finance industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Business Administration from Chapman University.
Division President, Northern California
A consummate professional, Mark brings over 30 years of construction experience to the Millie and Severson team. His unique resume includes both field work and management experience, giving him a very valuable insight and in-depth understanding into the overall construction process. Mark was our Chief Estimator before being tapped to head our operations in Northern California. As the leader of our NorCal office, Mark works with our clients, subcontractors and employees to ensure each project is completed with the highest quality at the most cost-effective rate.
Chief Financial Officer
Ben joined Millie and Severson as Controller in 2011. In that role, he managed the operations of accounting and financial reporting for the company. Since his promotion to Chief Financial Officer, Ben additionally spearheads all the firm’s cash management, investments and insurance. As a member of the third generation of the Severson family to work at the company, Ben is part of the connection between the company’s strong roots and helping pave its bright future. Prior to joining the firm, Ben worked as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Ben is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California.
Senior Vice President
John’s career has spanned three decades in the real estate, finance, and construction industries. Since joining Millie and Severson in 2001, he has provided leadership on a wide variety of project types. With exceptional industry experience, he is finely attuned to identifying project issues and working closely with the owner and project team. In his role as Senior Vice President, John is actively involved in overseeing all business development and corporate marketing. He is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.
Senior Vice President
Allen has been a construction industry professional for more than 25 years. Since starting his construction career, he has served in a variety of roles ranging from Superintendent to Director of Field Operations to Vice President. Currently, Allen serves as our Senior Vice President where he draws on his vast experience to provide oversight on all project operations. Allen also excels at developing and nurturing successful long term relationships with Fortune 500 clients. He actively accepts challenges and finds solutions without sacrificing project objectives.
Senior Vice President
Bob is a true construction professional with a strong dedication to his clients. Having worked on a variety of projects in the industrial, institutional, and commercial sectors, Bob brings a wealth of experience to our executive team. Mindful of the trust that his clients place in him, Bob works hard to exceed their expectations on every project. He joined the Millie and Severson team in 1990, and his leadership is vital to our continued success. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach.
Vice President, Preconstruction
Robert has been in the construction industry for over 38 years and has served in a variety of capacities, including Vice President of Preconstruction, Operations Manager, Project Executive and Estimator. At Millie and Severson, he ensures that the preconstruction efforts help to facilitate and integrate the efforts of our Estimating Team and that of the Design Team to be efficient and complete. To ensure continuity of the preconstruction efforts, Robert also provides leadership and technical support for the project team through the successful completion of projects. With such detailed oversight he helps mitigate unnecessary costs and delays.
Director of Corporate Operations
Sandra has been a part of the Millie and Severson team since 1996. She has made significant contributions to the efficiencies of operations for the company by having participated in a variety of department cross functions such as accounting, subcontracting, project delivery, contract administration, IT and operations. Aside from maximizing efficiency, she has improved company profitability by directing and coordinating financial and budget processes. Her tireless efforts are reflected in our established and proven company procedures and policies.
Scott brings more than 25 years of experience delivering complex commercial, retail and institutional projects on schedule and within budget. As the leader of our estimating department, Scott works diligently to ensure that no stone goes unturned and every potential issue – from hidden costs to potential delays – is anticipated by our team. Scott earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and his M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Holly is responsible for the company’s financial accounting operations and reporting, managing more than $250 million in contracts annually. Holly has 25 years of experience in accounting in the A/E/C industry and is a valued member of the leadership team. She earned her B.S. in Accounting from the University of La Verne and is also a California Certified Tax Preparer and Notary Public. She joined Millie and Severson in 2014.
Director of Corporate Marketing
Lisa directs Millie and Severson’s strategic marketing efforts across multiple channels and media, ensuring that the company’s efforts are communicated to our clients, architects, subcontractors and employees. She also supports the company’s project development activities by executing both strategic and tactical efforts to win new business. Lisa brings more than 25 years of marketing experience to the company. She earned her B.A. in English from Boston University.
