Architect: Ware Malcomb
The Riverside County Economic Development Agency recently embarked on a new Public Private Partnership project (P3) to serve the community with a state-of-the-art healthcare facility that will also provide jobs in the fast-growing region. The P3 project, constructing a new Medical Office Building (MOB) on the Moreno Valley campus of the Riverside University Health System Medical Center, began vertical construction in December 2017. The entire project team worked closely in a heavy design-assist approach to ensure a successful project delivery that came in 11 weeks ahead of schedule. The new MOB was completed in December 2019 and will open its doors to patients in first quarter 2020 once all FF&E are fully installed. It will be operated by Riverside University Health System and features three floors to support its large patient base with multiple clinics including primary care, pediatrics, cardiology, and orthopedics, as well as a women’s health center. The MOB will also provide an ambulatory surgery center, an extensive rehabilitation center with adult and pediatric gyms, pharmacy services, and an imaging center – including CT/PET scan, infusion center, radiology, mammography, and MRI. A new pedestrian bridge connects the building to the adjacent hospital. A new pavilion was also built which features a Panera Bread restaurant as well as a lobby area. The Medical Office Building achieved LEED Silver certification.
