This year’s NAIOP Young Professionals Group (YPG) ended its 2015-2016 class with a case competition by five project teams. Nick Shaffer, Millie and Severson’s Director of Project Development, was part of the team pitching “Shell Beach,” a sustainable, mixed-use planned community in Huntington Beach. All teams considered the same site, but came up with interesting and unique views of how to develop, finance, position and sell the property. Nick’s team also included Richard Schwartz of Colliers and JB Green of CBRE, pictured left to right. Not pictured, but rounding out the team, are Stephanie Martinez, Steelcase; Bob Shahmardi, Bank of America; Chris Gaudreau, Sunwest Bank; and Saina Li, Hines.
